Pick up the October Issue

Posted By on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 10:31 AM

Even though it's time for ghosts and goblins, don't let math and science education scare you. In this month's issue, Kids VT takes a look at Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education in Vermont schools. The feature includes tips to encourage budding scientists and mathematicians.

Plus, author Frederick Lane talks about Cybertraps and how parents can help kids avoid getting tangled up in the web. Don't miss the calendar of events — which is full of fall fun. You'll also find a recipe for Swedish Apple Pie and a list of pick-your-own apple orchards.

Check out the online slideshow featuring September's coloring contest winners and honorable mentions. If we didn't pick your entry, you can always try again: The deadline for entries this month is October 15.

As always, please let us know what you think. Send us a letter, an email, or Facebook comment to share your thoughts.
