The non-profit Stern Center for Language and Learning offers customized instruction, learning evaluations, and communication services. Our professional staff consists of evaluators, instructors, and coaches. Ranging from teachers, special educators, specialists, diagnosticians, and Speech Language Pathologists, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to build upon your child’s strengths and address areas of difficulty. We help all learners including those with learning differences, learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, language delays, a desire for enrichment, concerns about taking SAT/ACT tests, and those struggling with communication challenges, such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder. In private practice since 1989, 20+ years experience. Specializing in Separation and Divorce, Post-Divorce, Blended Families, Same Sex Couples. Offices in Winooski and St. Albans.
I work cooperatively with my clients throughout this process. I speak with each client confidentially prior to the first session. I schedule between 1.5 - 2 hours for each session. I charge by the hour and payment is due at the end of each session. For a complete divorce, most couples meet with me between 3 - 6 times depending upon how complicated their finances, how volatile are the emotions, and how able or motivated they are to do some work together outside of sessions. Upon request, I can provide my clients with a list of "mediation friendly" attorneys. If my clients are represented, I may communicate with the attorneys on occasion, either between sessions or once a final agreement is drafted. I also work with clients who choose not to consult with attorneys.
