We offer classes and seminars for all ages, summer music camps for children, workshops with visiting regional, national, and international artists, and a schedule of concerts by renowned traditional artists from the region, country, and abroad. In the past 6 years Summit School has hosted a stellar list of national and international artists in our effort to expand cultural understanding within our own state and nation. We have hosted musical artists from Africa, Ireland, Norway, Canada, Sweden, and other countries. These intimate workshops and classes give students an opportunity to learn from masters at their craft close to home in a format that is appealing to both children as well as adults. Summit School also provides outreach opportunities by offering workshops on Traditional Music and Culture to schools and community groups. Classes include American Harmony Singing, Intro and Advanced courses in Banjo, Fiddle, Ukelele, and Guitar, Repertoire classes in Celtic, Quebecois and Appalachian Folk Music, Recording techniques, songwriting, and many others. Our instructors are highly regarded performing artists and experienced teachers with ties to or visiting Central Vermont. Classes are offered in multiple 8 week sessions year round.
