Going Green
Kids who attend the Vermont Going Green Expo with their families on May 10 & 11 can learn about fun ways of staying environmentally-conscious— from a cast of puppets. Annie Frelich and Annie Quest, aka “The Annies”, have been performing and creating together in Vermont since 1995. Their shows are inhabited by an “eclectic cast of unique and zany puppets” made out of re-purposed and recycled materials, and Frelich and Quest draw as many laughs and smiles from adults as they do from children. Quest and Frelich both take part in the creation of their show and combine their inspiration as singer-songwriters to develop musical, upbeat lyrics and tunes with ethical undertones. The Annies have joined up with the Vermont Going Green Expo to perform in the show’s Green Kids Zone on Mother’s Day weekend. When not engaged in live puppet performances, The Annies have been hard at work developing and recording their new album, Crazy Stew, which is now for sale at scattered locations throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Join The Annies and nearly 100 green exhibitors at the Vermont Going Green Expo. Come learn more about how your family can have a positive environmental impact, whether you make small daily changes to your consumer choices or build an entirely carbon-neutral home. The event will be the fourth green event of its kind coordinated by Going Green Magazine. Dozens of Green workshops, a Live Music tent, a daily Eco-Fashion show, Environmental Hero awards and a Green Kids Zone with activities all day long will also be a part of this great event. The Expo takes place at Gutterson Athletic Center at UVM from 10am-7pm on May 10 and from 10am-4pm on May 11. For more information, visit www.goinggreenexpos.com.
