Re: “Birth Journeys”
We live far from our relatives and didn't envision our families participating in our labor and delivery. After attending a childbirth education course taught by two Birth Journeys doulas (through the Beginnings program, prior to the doulas starting their own courses), we knew we wanted a guide, a support person, a doula at our birth. We felt so comfortable with their collective experience, familiarity with Fletcher Allen, and most of all their support for how we wanted to bring out child into the world-- no judgement. And our daughter's birth was wonderful because of their support. Birth Journeys were among the first people we announced our second pregnancy to! Jenna was wonderful at our son's birth. I wish I could provide a doula to every woman who wants one! Their playgroups have been a highlight for our young family, connecting us with other families, forming great friendships, and sharing joys, frustrations, and baby gear. The women of Birth Journeys will help you welcome your child into the world and supporting you through those amazing first years of childhood.
