Falcon Foray

When: Sat., April 28, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 2012
Phone: 229-6206
Price: $5 adult; free for children.
Families gather at the North Branch Nature Center for a guided birding walk to the nesting site of the area’s breeding peregrine falcon pair on the sheer cliffs of Marshfield Mountain. Even NASCAR fans will be impressed with the swiftness of these hunters which reach speeds over 200 miles-per-hour in flight. Using skills of stealth and keen observing eyes, kids will get a glimpse into the world of this once endangered species and understand why life still isn’t easy for these majestic raptors. The tour is lead by an experienced birder, so bring your binoculars and all your questions for a fine feathered day that’s for the birds.
