On Monday, Gov. Phil Scott and the Vermont Agency of Education announced a plan to provide educational content to supplement remote learning while school buildings are shuttered due to COVID-19.

Vermont PBS is using its main channel and Vermont PBS Plus to air educational programs throughout the day. Both channels are available on all cable systems, and free through a digital antenna without the need for cable subscription or broadband internet access. Access a channel finder here.

Each television program is paired with resources for parents and educators that can be accessed at the television station's At-Home Learning site. Materials include interactive lessons, activities, printable resources and supplementary video clips.

Programming runs Monday through Friday through the end of the school year. From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., shows on the Vermont PBS main channel are geared to kids from preschool to third grade — including Peg + Cat, Cyberchase and SciGirls. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main channel, programs for fourth through eighth graders include Nova, History Detectives and Native America: From Caves to Cosmos.

On PBS Plus+, middle and high schoolers will find the program Nature, as well as documentaries including John Lewis: Get in the Way, about the pioneering civil rights leader, and Ken Burns' The Roosevelts: An Intimate History.
