Since 2001 GMYS has been creating a community of young musicians from northern and central Vermont through the performance of great music. GMYS offers three orchestras so young musicians of all skill levels can explore the exciting world of classical music. Placement auditions are held each spring. Financial assistance is available. We rehearse on Saturdays in the Montpelier area from September – April. All ensembles play in our concerts in December and April. Art Camp is perfect for art-starved kids! Art Camp provides children a week of hands on art making in Carol MacDonald's artist studio. By learning essential processes, children get more and more proficient in these mediums and bring new ideas to their art. At Night Eagle, we live in tipis and do things that boys did hundreds of years ago - learn survival skills (fire making with flint & steel or bow drills, plant identification, tracking, camouflage), create lots of craft items (birchbark baskets, moccasins), go on hikes, canoe, swim, and play lots of games (Buffalo Robe, Stalk the Chief and Slack 'Em to name a few)! The Saint Albans Museum (SAM) was constructed in 1861, and this historic site (a former school) has something for everyone. Community Sailing Center summer camps are designed to teach kids ages 6 through 17 the safety, skill, and joy involved in the life-long sport of sailing. Organized by age group and led by certified instructors, camp options include sailing-only and multi-activity camps that blend sailing and another sport or hobby. This week-long program is designed to provide a fun and supportive environment for exploring these new avenues of ensemble playing. All students will participate in both orchestras performing a wide range of musical styles, giving them an opportunity to experiment with different musical genres. A co-ed day camp for kids entering 1st – 6th grade, Camp Greylock is an outdoor learning and adventure camp that takes full advantage of its Lake Champlain shoreline and 287 acres of green and wooded natural beauty. Greylock is located at Kingsland Bay State Park on Lake Champlain in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. Free bus transportation from the Greater Burlington area provided. Greylock has been reimagined for 2017, with fewer campers each week and greater focus on nature and hands-on adventure. Archery, canoeing, swimming, building and cultivating a garden, nature-inspired art projects, and a Y counselor trained as a park interpreter are what await your child. Camp Greylock is a place where kids build skills, make friends and develop a sense of belonging. $220 per week.
Does your child have what it takes to lead in the 21st century? Young Hacks Academy is a summer day camp that uses technology to develop real-world leadership skills. Blending computer programming, problem-solving, and teamwork, YHA teaches kids to build cool video games about big challenges facing the world today, such as climate change, homelessness, and endangered wildlife. As serious as we are about exploring technology, YHA is also committed to having fun away from the screen, moving campers outside each day for unplugged games like treasure hunts and riddle relays. No programming experience is required. YHA Agent Training for Ages 9-12 and YHA Beta Masters for Ages 12-15 will be held throughout Vermont and New England. Cost is $375. Space is limited.

Camps are held on the campus of the VT College of Fine Arts (VCFA) in Montpelier, VT and at Gallery’s 46 Barre St location in Montpelier. Looking for something fun, outdoor and active for your kid this summer? Check out our half-day windsurfing camps starting up on June 19th and running through August 25th. The camp runs weekly from 8:45am to 1:45pm Monday through Friday followed by a free lunch at Spot on the Dock, (how sweet is that?). Registration is for the entire week and no prior experience is required. We supply all the windsurfing gear and provide instruction on rigging and de-rigging the equipment. Camps run each day rain or shine. Ages are 9 to 16.
