Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

This was an excellent experience for my son. He took part for the first time last summer and even though he was new and didn't know anybody, he was easily welcomed into the group. William is a fun person and a very knowledgeable chess teacher. My son loved the chess lessons and games, but also the outside times playing games like Capture the Flag. This was the highlight of the summer for him, and we are planning on doing it again.

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

The perfect mix of fun, and skill and a little competition. My son definitely learned a lot and it solidified his love of the game!

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

My son has participated in a number of these camps and loved them. William is a great teacher, but also makes sure there's lots of fun involved for everyone regardless of their skill level.

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

William is a great teacher, and our boys always look forward to Dynamic Chess camps. They have a lot of fun, they learn new tactics and strategies, and it keeps them at the top of their game. Highly recommended.

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

Both my daughter and son attended William's chess camps in past years. William is a great instructor. He is patient and clear to explain from fundamentals to advanced strategies. Moreover he makes the camp a place full of fun. It is also a good place for kids to make new friends.

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

Our son has participated in Wills camp for years. One year, our niece from Wisconsin came too. Our son has tons of fun and often medals in state chess tournaments.

Re: “Vermont Chess Camp of Champions

My son has been to every one of William's Shelburne chess camps over the last four years. He loves them, would not miss them and is looking forward to this year's camp in July. William is a great teacher in part because he's such a great player but more so because he is able to make learning chess a lot of fun. He really relates to young players.

My son's one disappointment is that William only comes to Vermont one week a year. My one disappointment is that my son now regularly beats me in chess.

Re: “Stern Center for Language and Learning

Often resources available to parents tend to be limited, so I am thrilled that the Stern Center offers trainings and workshops tailored to parents who are eager to learn more about their children's learning needs. If you are eager to learn more about your child's individual learning style, check out the offerings at the Stern Center.

Re: “Mater Christi School

Mater Christi has been great for my daughters. While it retains a small school atmosphere, it also provides most of the opportunities found at larger schools: drama, band, sports, and Odyssey of the Mind, to name just a few. My girls love the bands, including jazz, symphony, and even a marching band for the Kid's Day parade. Academically, the middle school faculty really connects with the students. The separate writing and literature classes has been great for my older daughter. The science program is also excellent, providing lots of hands-on experience. Overall, my wife and I couldn't be happier.

Re: “Mater Christi School

This is a wonderful school! Small class sizes, rigorous academics, caring teachers and community. We switched from one of the "highly acclaimed" public schools that had turned out to be a disappointment on many levels. I am thrilled with this school and so are my kids. They are happier, calmer, better behaved and getting a better education. I am so glad that we made this change!

Re: “Talent Development Institute

Our son has attended this program two summers in a row (ages 10 and 11). He absolutely adores his time there, the classes he takes, the instructors, and getting to hang out with other bright kids. Staying in the dorms at Johnson State College makes it a pretty special, "grown up" kind of experience, but the staff have been doing this for 15 years and really know how to put together a safe and fulfilling week. -- a South Burlington mom

Re: “The Schoolhouse Summer Programs

The Schoolhouse runs an outstanding variety of weekly summer camps. My daughter attended last summer and loved it so much she is going back again this year. Great structured activities and projects mixed with lots of outdoor play time.
